The Lawrence School entrance admission is open to all boys and girls aged between 9 and 16 irrespective of social status, religion, or nationality. The School, which is nestled in nature’s green embrace, has been eponymous with the Sanawar hill on which it rests. One can’t help but be impressed by the beautiful greenery of the 139-acre site as one drives down the tiny curving road. Its big stone buildings, equipped with large Georgian windows, wide stone stairs, two cannons, and a ‘buggy,’ harken back to the colonial era. There are some certain eligibility criteria fixed for admission. Let’s take a look at that.
Admission Eligibility For The Lawrence School
The age criteria for admissions to these classes are as follows:

The Lawrence School Admission Process
The admission process of The Lawrence School has been described below:
- Application for admission in the school is available till the second week of November every year.
- The children seeking entry into Classes V(about 20 girls and 45 boys), VI (about 05 girls and 10 boys) and VII (about 10 girls and 15 boys ) can apply for admission.
- The online Common Entrance Test for all these classes are conducted in third week of November.
- The entrance test is conducted at Sanawar, Gurgaon, Mumbai, Kolkata, Lucknow, Hyderabad, Guwahati, Kathmandu and Dubai.
- Online tests will be conducted for the subject of English, Hindi, Mathematics and General Science.
- For admission in Classes VIII, IX, and XI, a limited number of applications can be considered against specific vacancies.
- In Classes X and XII, there are no admissions. Please keep in mind that registration for one year is not transferable to another.
- The registration forms can be collected from the school office.
- It can also be downloaded from the School’s website(www.sanawar.edu.in).
- Completed registration forms should be sent by post or faxed to the School.
- The child will however, only be registered on receipt of the appropriate fee remitted by Demand Draft or in online mode.
- Online transfer made payable to The Headmaster, The Lawrence School, Sanawar at the State Bank of India, Sanawar ( Branch Code : 50199; IFSC Code:SBIN0050199).
- You can also pay fees through UPI.
- A photocopy of the child’s birth certificate will also be required by the School.
- At the time of admission, a Transfer Certificate from the preceding school (if applicable) is required.

The admission test comprises of the following subjects:
- English (a written test of 100 marks: time duration one hour)
- Mathematics (a written test of 100 marks: time duration one hour)
- Science (a written test of 100 marks: time duration one hour)
- Hindi (a written test of 100 marks: time duration one hour)
Note: Students who have not studied Hindi for more than 3 years are exempted from this test at the direction of the Headmaster, on request. A certified copy of subjects studied from the previous school is mandatory for seeking any exemption from Hindi.
To be eligible for the personal interaction, a candidate must pass all subjects with a score of 40 percent. Based on the personal interaction, a student is given a score out of 100. Communication skills, engagement in sports and other extracurricular activities, and reading habits are all highly valued at the school. During their personal engagement, students who excel in one or more of these areas are given special attention.
The Lawrence School Entrance Exam Date
- Entrance test for 5th, 6th and 7th classe is usually conducted on the second Sunday of November.
- Applications for classes 8th, 9th and 11th are received in December and children called for an Entrance test/ Personal interaction on the second Sunday of February (for class XI in April after the Class X Board Examination) only if there are vacancies.
