Academics of Rashtriya Indian Military College (RIMC)
RIMC is affiliated with the Indian Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). It is a record-holder in the Limca Book of World Records for being the only institution in the country which conducts the board examinations for class X and XII twice a year, in the months of May and November, respectively. At +2 or class XII level, only science stream is offered to the cadets. The college focusses on a child’s overall development, rather than laying complete emphasis on academic development and progress only.
The college is well-known for focussing on both curricular and extra-curricular activities of a cadet, the achievements of which are recorded in the cadet’s dossier at the end of each term. In order to ensure the same, the college has made it a point to offer a pool of activities to develop a rick curriculum for the cadets. The college also teaches Social Sciences in order to prepare the cadets for the UPSC Examination, for entry into NDA. Cadets are also familiarised with the modern objective type of questions as per the exam’s pattern.
Periodic tests are held at regular time intervals to assess the cadets. At the end of the term, a cadet’s academic performance and record is analysed and accordingly his position in the class is decided. For promoting one to the next class, due weightage is also given to the sessional work done by a Cadet both in terms of class work and homework. RIMC has shown excellent results in sending between 60-90% cadets to NDA from each course.
